Shalani Soledad gets diamond ring from Romulo, Is it an engagement ring?

UPdaTE--Shalani Soledad has received a diamond ring from no less than Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo.

This was confirmed by Romulo’s sister, Agriculture Undersecretary Berna Romulo-Puyat, who was in a tete-a tete with reporters at the sidelines of her agency’s budget hearing at the House of Representatives plenary.

Romulo-Puyat was reacting to media reports that Soleded was seen wearing a diamond ring. She told media she texted her brother if that meant she was engaged.

At that exact time, her brother called back and within earshot of the media, confirmed that he did give Soledad with a diamond ring. He even asked: “Masama ba?”

ABS-CBN News later asked Romulo if the ring is a diamond ring or simply a ring with a diamond but Romulo could not give an answer. A gift of a diamond ring is usually taken to be an engagement ring.

Romulo-Puyat said she likes Shalani, even if she only met her once. She said the Valenzuela City councilor and former girlfriend of President Aquino was introduced to the Romulo family in a family dinner 2 weeks ago.

Romulo-Puyat said her brother only introduces to the family ladies he takes seriously.

She recalled that the last time her brother introduced a lady to their family was 4 years ago. She revealed her brother asked her not miss the family dinner 2 weeks ago. She said Shalani brought food for sharing with the family.

Shamsey deserved to win the Miss Universe says Oprah Winfrey

Oprah said via NBC News.
“I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point.”
Although there's a Bombo Radyo report about it [view article] and it's nice to hear if Oprah really made that comment, we're still trying to find the original article to confirm its veracity. If she said it on television, we hope there's an online write-up too.

It's true that Shamcey is the only Miss Universe 2011 finalist to have answered the final question without an interpreter.

Pageant judge Vivica Fox asked her: “Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person that you love? Why or why not?”

Swiftly, Shamcey replied: “If I would have to change my religious beliefs, I would not marry the person that I love because the first person that I love is God who created me.”

“I have my faith and my principles, and this is what makes me who I am. If the person loves me, he’ll love my God too,” she explained.

Xian Lim inlove with Kim Chiu?

Xian Lim admitted it is not hard to fall in love with his “My Binondo Girl” co-star Kim Chiu.

In an interview with Push.com.ph, Lim said he has never met a girl as sweet as Chiu.

“I love working with them, lalo na si Kim she’s really sweet. She’s a really sweet girl like I’ve never seen anyone sweeter than her. When I see a sweet girl, I’m reminded of Kim. She’s the definition of sweet. Her strongest quality is that she’s a really sweet girl,” he said.

“Hindi ko makita yung side niya na yung napipikon. Hindi ko pa nakikita yung side na ganun. She’s always smiling. Parang very magaan kasama. I guess that’s yun lang yung secret doon eh. If magaan kasama yung tao na your with, then it’s nice to be around them,” Lim added.

Lim also said he and Chiu get to hang out sometimes with some of their closest showbiz friends.

“Yeah I hang out with them kasama sila Maja (Salvador). We go play bowling, stuff like that. The small stuff, mga simple lang but I haven’t been out with them lately,” he admitted.

Although he and Chiu get along well, Lim said he is not yet ready to get into a relationship yet.

“Wala I just want to focus on My Binondo Girl sobra. I just want to focus on work. Focus na focus. I mean I’m not saying na hindi ko gagawin. Pag may na-develop, na-develop ‘di ba? I don’t have a love life. Promise yun. They won’t see me anywhere with a girl and if they do, that’s not a date. For now wala pa talaga. I’m still looking, searching. But I’m not supposed to be searching. It’s not a priority. Work is my priority for now. I don’t want to be eating up my words but work is my priority for now,” he explained.
